The short lines hype is growing and becoming recognised as a sub-discipline of the Big Air movement – it has even entered as a separate discipline in the last stop of the BAKL tour in Cape Town. For those who want to feel the sensation of a short lines session for the first time, or those who want to make that jaw-dropping mega loop and send the kite super low, we have lined up a special two-day clinic on mastering the art of short lines kiting.
We will be joined by the local young and talented short lines master (and TheKiteMag cover star!) Camdyn Kellett. Over the two days Camdyn will take you through the essential theory and techniques behind riding with short lines before hitting the water in the iconic Blouberg beach.
For this clinic we have set a wind window starting on 26 January to 2 February. Depending on the forecast, we will announce the two dates of coaching closer to the time.
Growing up near the stunning beaches of Mauritius, Louka’s journey into kitesurfing began at a very young age. Combining talent, determination and passion for the ocean, Louka rapidly rose to the top on the freestyle kiting scene, securing the French title 4 times, and currently sitting at 3rd place in the GKA World Freestyle ranking. Louka will join us on this incredible adventure right after the GKA World Freestyle Championship in Brazil to share with you his experience, knowledge and passion for the sport and help you lock in new tricks and improve your overall riding.
Our adventure starts at Preá. The transfer from Fortaleza airport is not included, but we can help you with the organization. Here you will meet the rest of the group and your pro coach. You can enjoy a free kite session or unwind by the beach with a caipirinha or two.

After a delicious breakfast, we will head to our first downwinder from Barrinha to Tatajuba. We will cover a distance of 30km and finish off with a kite session and coaching on the spot.

After breakfast we will head to our next stop Barra Grande. Barra Grande is a charming small village with sand streets, tropical vegetation and natural pools that will make you feel in another world. The butterflat waters await, so we will head straight for a kite session on the spot.

Our next spot Macapá awaits. Macapá is a quiet and authentic village, adapted to the changing rhythm of nature. It offers some of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil and a vast area of flat and shallow water with wind at any time of the day. We will head for a 10km guided downwinder and finish off with a kite session and coaching on the spot.

After breakfast we will head to Delta de Parnaíba – a unique maze of channels that make their way to the ocean creating an archipelago of more than 80 islands and hiding heavenly places to kite. Here we will head for a 20km downwinder along the delta, followed by a local lunch and a session on the spot. Expect desert islands, mangrove channels and tiny shallow beaches that form this unique ecological sanctuary.

The village of Atins, our final destination, is the main entrance to the Lençóis Maranhenses, a unique destination in the world that every person should visit at least once in their life. Arriving here will be an odyssey on its own as we will go through the incredible landscape and natural treasures of the region. We will head straight for a kite session in the crystal clear lagoons, surrounded by the white sand dunes. Accommodation: Pousada Convento Arcadia
After breakfast, we will go for our last downwinder for the week. It’s a 28 km adventure with the ocean on one side and the Lençóis Maranhenses Park on the other. At the end of the downwind, we will rest and recover in the house of a local family, who lives in an oasis in the middle of the dunes. After a well-deserved rest, we will head for a kite session in a private lagoon, away from the crowds with crystal clear flat water and stunning colours at sunset. The perfect farewell for an unforgettable week!
Our adventure comes to an end. You will fly out of Sao Luis airport, and we can help you organize the airport transfer. (not included)
Close to the famous city of Jericoacoara, Preá enjoys stronger sideshore winds that are perfect for Big Air, powered freestyle, or for throwing down some old school moves. You can also blast a downwinder right into Jeri from here!
Macapá offers the ultimate kitesurf conditions, with a vast area of flat and shallow water protected from the ocean by a sandbar, with wind at any time of the day.
Barra Grande is a classic small Brazilian village which has perfect kite conditions and butter-flat waters.
The Delta of Parnaíba, the third largest open sea delta in the world, is an ecological sanctuary with a diversity of landscapes. There are incredible dunes, freshwater lagoons, great beaches of white sand, and heavenly places to kitesurf, all faraway from anywhere…
Atins is a small fishing village located on the coast of Maranhão, surrounded by the dunes of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. It’s a special place, right at the delta of the Preguiças River, a small creek, and the Atlantic Ocean. Atins has amazing kiteboarding conditions with consistent cross-shore winds and shallow warm waters.
