The short lines hype is growing and becoming recognised as a sub-discipline of the Big Air movement – it has even entered as a separate discipline in the last stop of the BAKL tour in Cape Town. For those who want to feel the sensation of a short lines session for the first time, or those who want to make that jaw-dropping mega loop and send the kite super low, we have lined up a special two-day clinic on mastering the art of short lines kiting.
We will be joined by the local young and talented short lines master (and TheKiteMag cover star!) Camdyn Kellett. Over the two days Camdyn will take you through the essential theory and techniques behind riding with short lines before hitting the water in the iconic Blouberg beach.
For this clinic we have set a wind window starting on 26 January to 2 February. Depending on the forecast, we will announce the two dates of coaching closer to the time.
Pro rider Rita Arnaus has been lighting up the freestyle scene for many years now, as well as being one of kiting’s most recognised ambassadors. A podium regular, Rita was crowned Vice World Freestyle Champion in 2021 as well as Spanish Champion. After our successful clinic in 2022, we are stoked that Rita is joining us again to share her passion, style, knowledge and years of experience with you.
Cumbuco is a small fishing village just 25 km from Fortaleza international airport, located between a postcard perfect beach and incredible sand dunes. It is one of the best places to practice kitesurfing in the world, with the best conditions for this sport both in the open sea and in lagoons, and with many activities and excursions to discover. Here you’ll meet with Rita Arnaus and all the other participants, and have some time to discuss the week ahead and the goals you’d like to set yourself. Then, come the evening, you have the option of eating in one of the many fantastic restaurants or enjoying other activities in this vibrant village.
The transfer from Fortaleza airport to Cumbuco is not included, but we can help you organize it.

The site is surrounded by various natural treasures that you can discover during your stay, such as deserted beaches, dunes and natural pools. Around Icaraizinho you have plenty of other kite spots, the whole coast links up into the perfect kitesurfing playground! The beaches of Caetanos, the Barra de Moitas or the spots of Baleia and Mundau are just a stone’s throw away…
Your days will kick off once again with a hearty breakfast, and then it’s back to the warm waters to enjoy another coaching session with Rita. That evening you can debrief and decide what you will work on next to really achieve those goals by the end of your stay.

We will head to our final stop – Préa.
Préa is a beautiful fishing village that also doubles up as one of the stops on the GKA Kite World Tour, and a spot where the wind is both the strongest and the most consistent along the entire Brazilian coast. 15km of sandy beaches and picturesque lagoons amongst the dunes mean that you’ll get the most choice for your spot of the day in Préa, as you continue your coaching with Rita.
The nature is wild, with freshwater lagoons forming between the dunes, and insane sunsets over the sea. International restaurants or small typical barracks with fresh fish will fill you with energy for the next day.
